Laser Hair Removal is a treatment using a concentrated beam of light (laser) that targets hair follicles at the root resulting in permanent hair reduction. Candela GentleMax Pro® laser is effective and safe to use on all skin types delivering results with less discomfort. In addition, Candela’s GentleMax Pro® Dynamic Cooling Device uses cooling bursts of liquid cryogen for gentle laser hair removal treatment. 
Its two laser systems make GentleMax Pro effective for light and dark skin tones. In just a few treatments, it destroys hair follicles, brown spots, and blood vessels.
Yes! The GentleMax Pro® is safe for any skin type. The GentleMax Pro® combines two fast and powerful lasers: the Alexandrite for treatment on lighter skin tones and the ND-YAG, which is safe to treat for all skin types.
GentleMax Pro may take just a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. 
The process starts by cleansing the skin and applying protection to your eyes. Next, a small hand-held device delivers pulses of laser light to the skin. Before each laser pulse, we will spray coolant onto your skin to keep you comfortable.
GentleMax Pro® is not painful, but it can produce some minor discomfort. The Dynamic Cooling Device™ keeps you cool and comfortable. A topical anesthetic can minimize the pain.
Immediately after your session, your skin will be red like a sunburn and may be swollen. Cool compresses and aloe vera gel are effective at relieving this. Typically, the redness and swelling dissipate within hours or take a few days, depending on how sensitive your skin is.
Individuals may need multiple treatments for complete hair removal, depending on the treatment area.  
 
That is because hair grows in three stages:
 
1. Anagen: The growth stage is when hair is the thickest and darkest, so laser treatments are the most effective.
2. Catagen: During the transitional stage, the hair starts to loosen from its follicle.
3. Telogen: The shedding stage is when the hair falls out to make room for new hair to grow.
 
Because the hair on your body is at different stages of growth, you will need to undergo a few treatments about six weeks apart to catch the hairs in the growth stage.

So you booked your first wax. It’s a big deal. Now, what comes next upon scheduling that appointment.
 
We recommend that you do NOT:
 
  • Exfoliate 48 hours before you go for a wax
  • Shave for at least five to seven days before.
 
The soon-to-be-waxed area is cleansed and sanitized, followed by an oil application.  You will have a more enjoyable wax experience if you are relaxed. After the waxing is completed, we will apply an aftercare solution to calm your skin and prevent future irritation. You are on your way to smoother, hair free skin!
